Where Faith and Neuroscience Meet.
At MyCounselor.Online, we believe healing should never force you to choose between your faith and the tools God built into your body. The God who wrote Scripture also designed the nervous system—so when His truth and His design come together, transformation becomes possible at the deepest level. That’s the heart of Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling®: an approach that honors the Bible, leverages the best of brain science, and helps you grow into the person Jesus created you to be. This is where faith and neuroscience meet—where spiritual wisdom and scientific insight work together to heal the mind, restore relationships, and lead you into the abundant life Jesus promised.

Josh and Cassie Spurlock founded MyCounselor® Online with one mission: to unite biblical wisdom and clinical neuroscience so believers can experience real, lasting transformation. With a pastor’s heart, a clinician’s training, and a shared passion for emotional and spiritual maturity, they developed Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling® (NICC)—a model now used worldwide to help people heal wounds, fill developmental gaps, and grow into their True Self in Christ.
Together, they’ve spent decades serving individuals, couples, families, churches, and leaders. Their work has helped thousands move from “Fake Joy” to True Happiness, using a process that honors the nervous system, the gospel, and the presence of Jesus. They are also foster and adoptive parents to a large, beautiful family that keeps them grounded, grateful, and full of stories.
NICC is a research-backed counseling model that unites biblical truth and clinical neuroscience. It consistently helps clients experience significant emotional, relational, and spiritual growth.
NICC starts with a simple belief: the same Jesus who inspired Scripture also designed the human nervous system. That means real healing comes from honoring both.
Through experiential, relational, and somatic work, NICC helps calm a dysregulated nervous system, process unresolved pain, and rebuild the capacities needed for emotional, relational, and spiritual maturity.
Spurlock, J. (2024). “Effectiveness of NICC in Online Faith-Based Therapy: A One-Year Study”
Thousands of clients have experienced meaningful, measurable change through the NICC model.
