Christian counseling for anxiety

Your Mind Doesn't Have to Race for You to be Faithful.

Anxiety isn’t a spiritual failure, it’s your nervous system stuck in alarm. Our Christ-centered neuroscience informed counselors help your body and your faith find real, lasting calm.

You're not imagining it

You've prayed about it. You've pushed through it. And it's still there.

Maybe it shows up as a tight chest before you’ve even gotten out of bed. A mind that won’t stop rehearsing the worst case. Sunday mornings where everyone else seems at peace and you’re quietly white-knuckling it. Anxiety is exhausting precisely because it runs underneath everything else — and willpower alone rarely turns it off.

The Racing Mind

Thoughts loop and spiral. You over-prepare, over-analyze, and still can’t shake the sense that something’s about to go wrong.

The Body That Won't Rest

Tight chest, shallow breath, trouble sleeping, a stomach in knots. Your body sounds an alarm even when nothing is actually wrong.

The Quiet Shame

You wonder if more faith should fix this — and feel guilty that it hasn’t. It hasn’t because anxiety isn’t a faith problem to begin with.

Why our approach works on anxiety

We treat the alarm, not just the thought

Most anxiety advice aims at your thinking. But anxiety starts lower down — in a nervous system that learned to brace for threat. Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling® (NICC) works with the body, the story underneath, and the God who designed both.

01

Calm the body first

When your threat system is firing, insight can’t land. We start by helping your body learn safety again — the foundation everything else is built on.

02

Find the root, not just the symptom

Anxiety is usually protecting
something — an old wound, an
unmet need, a story about not being safe or enough. We help you reach what’s actually driving it.

03

Anchor in Christ

The God who wrote Scripture also designed your nervous system. Lasting peace comes from being met — by a counselor who understands the science, and by the One who is already moving toward you.

FAQ

Have Questions? We've got answers.

Prayer matters deeply — but anxiety lives in the body’s threat system, not just the will. Telling an anxious nervous system to calm down is like telling a smoke alarm to stop because there’s no fire. We help you address the actual alarm, and we do it with Christ at the center, not apart from Him.

Not necessarily. Many people find significant relief through counseling alone. For some, medication is a helpful support — that’s a conversation for you and a physician. We’re glad to work alongside your prescriber if you have one.

Many clients feel some relief in the first few sessions as their body starts to settle. Deeper, lasting change takes longer because we’re not just managing symptoms — we’re addressing what drives them. Your counselor will talk through a realistic picture with you early on.

Yes. Every counselor is trained in our Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling® model and shares a common statement of faith. You’re not getting clinically excellent care that happens to tolerate your faith — you’re getting care built on it.

We’re intentionally out-of-network so we can offer the depth of care insurance often limits. You can use HSA/FSA funds, and we’ll provide paperwork if you’d like to seek out-of- network reimbursement from your plan.

You weren’t meant to carry this by yourself.

Let’s start your healing together.
