Why does sex hurt? First of all: Sex shouldn’t hurt! If intercourse is painful, something is wrong – It’s not normal. There can be a number of causes for dyspareunia (pain during sex). The good news is: Painful sex can be treated, so you can enjoy sex instead of wincing at the thought of it.
