The Four Day EFT Externship is the most comprehensive and basic level of training and education in EFT, taught by an ICEEFT registered trainer. An externship includes observation of live interviews, presentations of theory and clinical techniques, skills training exercises, and discussion of specific cases, clinical material, and issues.

This externship offers a unique opportunity to incorporate key insights from Dr. Sue Johnson and Kenny Sanderfer’s recent book Created for Connection, a hands-on resource designed for Christian Couples.
The Externship is approved by the International Center of Excellence for Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and provides the first level of training required for certification as an Emotionally Focused Therapist.
EFT Tennessee has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6836. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. EFT Tennessee is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
The Presenters
Kenneth Sanderfer, LMFT
Certified EFT Therapist, Supervisor & Trainer AAMFT Approved Supervisor
As a Certified EFT Trainer, Kenny educates and trains EFT Therapists across several states. He is the founder and director of EFT Tennessee, Nashville’s center for training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. He provides EFT supervision for therapists pursuing EFT certification. As a Certified EFT Therapist, he provides intensive two-day couples therapy in Murfreesboro, TN. He recently co-authored a book with Dr. Sue Johnson, Created for Connection: The Hold Me Tight Guide for Christian Couples .
Kenny completed his undergraduate degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. He completed his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, where he is now an Adjunct Professor. He is licensed by the state of Tennessee in Marital and Family Therapy (license #564) and is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. When he is away from work you will find him fly fishing, training horses, ranching and spending time with his wife, Suzette and their five grand children.
Teri Murphy, PhD, LMFT
Certified EFT Therapist, Supervisor, Trainer in training in eft, AAMFT Approved Supervisor
Teri Murphy, PhD, LMFT is a licensed marital and family therapist in private practice in Franklin, Tennessee. Teri is a Certified Therapist, Supervisor, and Trainer-in-Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. She also supervises clinicians toward state licensure as an AAMFT-approved supervisor.
A former bona fide rocket scientist, Teri shifted from creating future space systems to helping couples, individuals, and families in therapy create secure attachment with God, themselves, and their most important relationships.
Teri has written articles for The Tennessean, Bedlam Magazine, and Venn Magazine, presents at professional conferences, and coaches mental health professionals in their group and private practices.
While away from the office, you’ll find Teri reading, practicing yoga, gardening, and spending time with her partner, Chris, and two teen children.
